Grounded Propulsion: Aerospace Principles in an RC System

Author: Brianna Short-I’Anson
Welcome to the Grounded Propulsion Project — an experimental engineering concept exploring how aerospace-inspired design principles can be translated into a ground-based vehicle platform.
This project documents the development of a rocket-inspired RC vehicle engineered to integrate concepts commonly associated with aerospace systems, including aerodynamic shaping, thermal shielding considerations, propulsion-inspired design, and systems-level thinking. The goal is to explore how advanced engineering ideas can be adapted into a small-scale prototype while remaining accessible, practical, and visually representative of real-world aerospace influence.
The Grounded Propulsion Project serves as both a hands-on engineering build and an ongoing exploration into experimental design, iterative development, and interdisciplinary problem-solving. Throughout the process, research, concept drafts, testing, refinements, and design evolution will be documented as the project continues to develop.
Extended draft documentation (currently under refinement) is available to potential collaborators upon request.
